"From overwhelm to understanding - parenting with confidence through STAR"

The STAR Programme

Sensory and Therapeutic Approach to Regulation

Understanding Your Child. Empowering Your Parenting.

Are you a parent looking for insight, practical tools, and a safe space to better support your child’s emotional and sensory needs?

The STAR Programme is designed for you.

This supportive, small-group course helps parents make sense of their child’s sensory and survival-based behaviours through a compassionate, trauma-informed lens. By building understanding and practical strategies, we aim to empower you to parent with more confidence, calm, and connection.

About the Course

Run online via Zoom with no more than 6 families per cohort, this course offers:

  • A safe, non-judgmental space to feel heard, understood, and supported

  • Clear, practical guidance grounded in neuroscience, sensory integration, and nervous system regulation

  • Interactive learning that supports reflection, personalisation, and connection

What You’ll Learn

Together, we’ll explore:

  • Sensory-driven behaviours and how to identify your child’s unique sensory profile

  • Creating and implementing an effective sensory diet tailored to your child

  • Survival-based behaviours (fight/flight/freeze/fawn) in both children and parents, and how to respond with compassion and clarity

  • In-the-moment regulation techniques for parents—especially when your child’s behaviours trigger stress or overwhelm

  • Evidence-based tools like HeartMath® for co-regulation and self-regulation

  • Deep dives into everyday challenges like transitions, anger, anxiety, demand avoidance, sleep, and control issues—tailored to the specific needs of each group
