Free telephone consultation
I am happy to discuss your requirements to help you to decide if Happy Senses is the right therapy solution for you and your child. Please feel free to request a FREE, 20 minute telephone consultation.
Initial Consultation – In person
I offer an initial consultation session at a special, reduced price (1 hour consultation). The purpose of this initial consultation is to allow me to conduct a basic assessment to determine if further assessment or therapy is required. It also allows me to advise on simple strategies etc. which may help you and your child.
Specialist Sensory Assessment
A specialist sensory assessment consists of in depth interview/history of developmental, social and educational development, standardised sensory assessment (usually the Sensory Processing Measure but sometimes if appropriate/necessary other tools may be utilised) and structured and non-structured clinical observations. All assessments are conducted both at home and at school/nursery as appropriate to assess fully the child’s needs in all environments. The cost of this assessment includes the provision of an in-depth report detailing results of the assessments, analysis and recommendations. It also includes a follow up visit if required to discuss these findings.
Individualised Sensory Strategies Package
Following assessment, I can provide a detailed ‘sensory strategies package’ of individualised sensory strategies/sensory diet, specific to your child. This will expand upon the recommendations provided in the specialist sensory assessment report, and provide detailed specific and personalised advice and activities regarding all the affected sensory systems. In addition, if appropriate, this report will include an introduction to the Alert Programme, to allow you and your child to gain an insight into arousal levels and self-regulation. This package includes the provision of an individualised sensory strategies pack/sensory diet plus a follow up visit if required to discuss these recommendations.
Individualised Treatment and Intervention
Following assessment, I can offer individualised treatment and intervention which may include sensory strategies, SI therapy, Bobath therapy or general paediatric physiotherapy as appropriate. Discounts for advance block bookings are available. An additional cost to cover travel time and mileage costs may apply.
The Sensory Integration Praxis Test (SIPT)
I am also certified to conduct the Sensory Integration Praxis Test (SIPT) which is a specialist assessment tool only trained SI therapists can administer. This is an in depth assessment tool which can provide a very detailed insight into a child’s praxis and SI difficulties. The cost of this assessment includes the provision of a report detailing results of the assessments, analysis and recommendations. It also includes a follow up visit if required to discuss these findings. I will be able to advise whether or not this assessment would be appropriate in conjunction with a specialist sensory assessment.
Additional Report writing
Any additional report writing / SEN reports etc. requested (not specified in the above packages) will be charged at an additional hourly rate.
I offer training packages aimed at pre-school, primary and secondary school settings to support staff in working with children with sensory processing difficulties. I can also provide training packages aimed at parent groups, children’s centre staff, adoption/fostering agencies or other interested parties. Training packages cover a basic introduction to Sensory Integration, the senses, how sensory integration dysfunction can affect children and simple sensory strategies. Training packages can also be tailored to specific requirements on request.
